Lot Description

A 'TUTTI FRUTTI' 'BOW' BROOCH

ESTIMATE: HK$ 50,000 / RMB 44,000

Tutti frutti' jewelry originated during the Art Deco period in 1920s. The jewelry is marked by its exoticness and liveliness. It prevailed among the higher social classes in Europe once it came into being. 'Tutti frutti' jewelry was introduced by Cartier's third generation successor, Jacques Cartier, who was inspired by the Indian colored gems which were fashioned into different leaf and floral shapes. The jewelry is characterized by its colorful combination of different delicately-carved gems. The gems can be easily damaged during the jewelry-making process, hence it requires a very high level of craftsmanship. Length around 63 mm.
